So, on the coast. It is warm, humid, and dreamy. We will stay another night, tryto exchange the substitute rental car for a better one, and head south to Cosat de Almiera/Cabo de Gata area.
62 0811.jpg We started out going along the coast highway, but it was so slow and crowded, and so lined with industry and mega resorts, that we detoured inland, just to get to the next stop in time. The next stop was a little bit north of Cabo de Gato (a land feature, not a town), south of Carboneras. It was full-on desert there, with dramatic mountains, interspersed with sandy coves. Not a whole lot of tourist resorts. The village - Agua Amarga - was quite small, and quiet, a few hotels and restaurant bars. The beach was pretty basic: no deck chairs; no waiters bringing Mageritas, etc. We spent 3 days blissfully laying and soaking up rays, although Anna had a little accident, that could have been serious, but has happily been minor. As we had a fridge in our room, we popped in the bottle of Cava we bought , and brought it, chilled, for beach lunch. When I was pulling out the cork, it hit me in the eye with fearfull velocity. I felt like my eyeball got knocked to the back of my skull, but the only result was one day of slight pain, and small discoloration. I didnīt even get a shiner!!

Major impression - Spain so huge and varied in regions, peoples, landscapes; and also so clean and prosperous.
